Spa Girl Twist on a Classic Cocktail

“Life gives you lots of chances to screw up which means you have just as many chances to get it right.” – Carrie Bradshaw

Somedays the screw up ratio is 50/50 and others its more like 100%. Yesterday was one of the almost perfect days where most everything fell into place. (Knock on wood.) Work day was productive, board meeting went well, house is clean and we have unseasonably cool temperatures. Sushi from my favorite spot Musashi.

Gardenias & The Royals….

When everything falls into order, there’s only one thing to do, and that’s make a cocktail to celebrate! This is my ode to Ina’s Quaratine Cosmopolitan in honor of my dear friend Karen, who founded Spa Girl Cocktails. It’s a little twist on a classic that is perfect for summer nights around the pool and only requires three ingredients – Spa Girl Cocktails Cucumber Martini, cranberry juice and fresh lime juice. The cucumber essence adds that little bit of summer spa bliss and twist on the Cosmopolitan.

Are you seriously drinking in front of me and not sharing?

Normally, I’d garnish with a cucumber or lime slice, but it’s shelter at home and the refrigerator is devoid of both. (Note to self: Plant a lime tree in the fall. Check cucumber growth progress in the garden.)I like to keep my Spa Girl Cocktails in the refrigerator so they are perfectly chilled for any impromptu cocktail hankering I may have.  Another shortcut to cocktails at a moments notice is to prep ingredients you use in cocktails every week – i.e., squeeze fresh lemon, lime and orange juice. You can keep the freshly squeezed juices in the refrigerator for a few days, and they are nicely chilled when ready to use. A girl has to be prepared!

Keep Spa Girl refrigerated for easy pour and sip spur of the moment cocktails…

If Ina can have mid-day quarantine Cosmo’s, so can you! (Okay, maybe you need to do this on a weekend when you’re not working….or a virtual happy hour with friends, just make time to enjoy the simple things in life – storm clouds, a beautiful sunset, your dogs being silly or the fact you made it through the day without yelling at anyone.) You, me and a virtually guilt free happy hour with Spa Girl – it’s a winning combination. Cheers!

This Spa Girl is always eager for cocktail hour…by the way, does anyone know how to groom a wriggly puppy named Lola?
